Unbelivably Easy Ways to Make Your Shoes Look Brand New Again ...

My fashion passion is footwear and with a large collection I’m proud of, I need ways to remove scuff marks from shoes to keep them looking fab-u-lous. You can’t help wear and tear on shoes, but look after them and they’ll last longer. Ugly blemishes and stains can ruin your overall look, so these ways to remove scuff marks from shoes will keep you looking gorgeous from head to toe.

1 Use Tippex/White out

One of my favorite simple ways to remove scuff marks from shoes, especially sneakers, is to use a little bit of Tippex or other white out fluid. Make sure that you only use this method on white shoes or sneakers, but it should cover up any small marks perfectly. If you think that the white will stand out among your off-color shoes, give them a quick rub down with a wet cloth and baking soda to clean them up before applying the Tippex.

When opting for the Tippex trick, a steady hand will be your best friend. Once you’ve applied it, allow it to dry completely before wearing the shoes to avoid smudging. Remember, this hack is not only about disguising those marks; it's about making them disappear. Tippex can work wonders, but if you've got deeper scuffs or more significant areas to cover, consider a specialty sneaker paint or white shoe polish which might be more durable for long-term wear. To keep the white pristine, periodic touch-ups may be necessary, especially if you're regularly hitting the streets in your refreshed kicks.

2 Rub an Eraser on the Mark

It might not always work, but if you are looking for an easy solution to get rid of scuffs on shoes you might want to try using an eraser. It works on any color shoe, but will work best on suede shoes. Make sure you only stroke the eraser in a single, constant direction, rather than rubbing backwards and forwards as you used to on your math tests.

3 Hand Sanitizer

Although the previous two ways of removing scuff marks are great, you might find yourself out and about to only notice that there is a huge mark on one of your favorite leather boots. Just get your hand sanitizer from your purse and rub it onto the mark – it should disappear almost instantly.

4 Essential Oils

While not necessarily the most convenient method to use, try rubbing some essential oils into leather shoes to remove scuffs.

5 Petroleum Jelly and Some Hard Work

If you are worried about ruining your favorite pair of shoes, try getting some paper towel and a small amount of petroleum jelly. It will take some hard work, but you should be able to buff most marks out of shoes, especially if they are good quality leather. This way you know that you won’t be forever ruining a great pair of shoes.

6 Toothpaste for Canvas Shoes

Canvas shoes are always in fashion so you might be seeking a tip for removing scuffs from fabric shoes. Try adding a blob of toothpaste to the shoes and wiping it away using a wet face cloth. Leave to dry and the mark should be erased.

7 Hair Spray

One of my favorite multi-use tools is hair spray. Spray a light layer onto your scuffed up shoes and rub it off using a microfiber cloth. This is one of the least potentially damaging tips, so give it a shot next time you scuff your shoes.

8 Washing up Liquid

Add a tiny spot of dish washing liquid, and rub with a damp towel until a lather forms. It should help to lift and spots that you can’t quite seem to buff out, without the risk of damaging your shoes. This works best with leather, but will also work on most canvas shoes.

9 Baking Soda

Another of my favorite multi-purpose items is a pot of baking soda. When I was researching how to remove scuff marks from shoes many years ago, I was advised to try mixing two tablespoons of baking soda with some lukewarm water to form a very thick paste. Use a paper towel or cloth to rub the soda mixture into the shoes. Buff off and any marks should be lifted.

Have you tried any other ways to remove scuff marks from shoes that work?
