1. Chunky Heels
My personal favorite fall shoe trend is the chunky heel. Sadly, since I’m flat-footed, I have a tough time strutting around in 6-inch stilettos. With that said, the chunky heel is a great compromise –I score the added height without the heightened pain! If you can afford the splurge, Tory Burch’s offerings will keep you well-heeled.
2. Booties
Another fabulous fall shoe trend is the bootie. Colin Stuart recently released richly-hued color block ankle booties. And Rag & Bone sells chunky heel booties that are perfect for a night on the town.

3. Loafers
These aren’t your grandmother’s shoes! Loafers have gained some sleek, feminine updates for fall, including a vast variety of colors, patterns, and embellishments. I already wear my Michael Kors loafers to work for casual Fridays and while running errands around the city. Since they’re chic and totally versatile, you can rock them almost anywhere.
4. Oxfords
One fall shoe trend to take advantage of is the oxford. In particular, I’m craving Jil Sander’s neon-soled oxford shoe. While I favor warm, rich colors when the temperatures drop, a touch of neon is an easy way to stand out.
5. Mary Janes
Just take it from Marni: Mary Janes are having a moment this season. My toes are begging for the design house’s Mary Jane wedges, but you don’t need big bucks to wear this trend well. From high-end to Payless, they’re anywhere and everywhere!

6. Classic Pumps…with a Twist
Fall shoe trends come and go, but you can’t go wrong with pumps. Now, I know you already own one-too-many pairs of neutral heels, so look for patterns. The bolder, the better. Loeffler Randall’s leopard print and dotted pumps give an of the moment twist to the classic.
7. Ballerina Flats
One last fall shoe trend to try is the ballerina flat. Much like pumps, you’ll want to go patterned. Leopard print, neon, glitter –nothing is off limits! Diane von Furstenberg makes a fierce leopard print ballerina flat. Meow!
With these 7 haute fall shoe trends, you’ll step out in style. Which ones will you try? Do you have any of your own to add?
