1. "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" by Nancy Sinatra

When you think of songs about shoes, this may be the main one that comes to mind, most likely because Jessica Simpson did a cover of it in 2005 for The Dukes of Hazzard remake. The original version, however, was sung by Nancy Sinatra back in 1966 and hit #1 in the US and UK pop charts! She was encouraged to sing the song as if she were a sixteen-year-old girl giving the "brush-off" to a forty-year-old man. It's definitely one of those songs that helps us ladies feel empowered and sexy!

2. "Dancing Shoes" by Arctic Monkeys, Green River Ordinance, and Gavin Degraw

"Dancing Shoes" is definitely a popular song name as I found 3 or more artists who had a song with this name! The three I've heard of though are from the Arctic Monkeys, Green River Ordinance, and Gavin Degraw. All three songs are completely different music styles with completely different lyrics, so listen to them all and see which you love the best. Who knows, you may end up loving all three! I personally love the Arctic Monkeys version best but I may be biased as I've been a big fan of their band overall.

4. "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes" by Paul Simon

"Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes" was a song written and performed by Paul Simon, from his album 'Graceland,' in 1986. The song also has back-up vocals from the South African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It was said to be written about a short relationship Paul Simon had with a diamond mine owner's daughter while recording in South Africa. She was very rich and privileged, yet she acted very down to earth, like a poor girl would. It's a great song to listen to when you need to remind yourself to always stay humble and down to earth, no matter how far you get in life.

I bet most of you had no idea that "Blue Suede Shoes" was originally written and recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955, not Elvis! It is considered one of the first rock and roll records and incorporated elements of blues, country and pop music of the time. It wasn't until a little later the Elvis Presley performed his version of the song, as well as Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran. The song is said to be inspired by the great Johnny Cash, who told Perkins of an airman who referred to his military regulation air shoes as "blue suede shoes." If you want a more classical song that was inspired and sung by many legends in the music industry, listen to "Blue Suede Shoes"!

7. "Fire in Your New Shoes" by Kaskade

If you're looking for a newer song about shoes, and love electronic dance music, Kaskade's 2010 song "Fire In Your New Shoes" may be your perfect match! The song features the lead singer from Dragonette, Martina Sorbara, and you can't help but dance when you listen to it. I mean, the song itself is talking about dancing! "Twirl your dresses around" and "lift your cotton socks" are lyrics from the song and make it seem like it was written just for us ladies!
