1

Get the Right Fit

Make sure your shoes are comfortable the first time around by getting them properly fitted. The right fit will hopefully mean that your feet are secured and won’t slide around too much or be too restricted. However, sometimes problems don’t show until you’ve spent a long period of time in your shoes, so the next couple of tips will help you figure out how to make your shoes more comfortable.

2

Wear Them in

Get used to a new pair of shoes by wearing them in before you debut them. Because practice makes perfect, right? If your shoes are a bit tight, try and stretch them out by wearing them with a thick pair of socks. Wearing your shoes beforehand will also help you pinpoint any potential problems and let you figure out the best ways to fix them before you’re caught out in public.

3

Stuff It

You don’t always have to wear your shoes to break them in. Another way to break them in or stretch out the leather is to stuff them with rolled up socks or other materials. Leave them overnight and they’ll hopefully stretch out just enough. It’ll also save you hassle of having to break them in yourself.

4

Full Insoles

One of the most common causes of discomfort can be sliding feet. If your feet are sliding around in your shoes, the constant rubbing and friction can cause blisters or break the skin. One way to fix the problem is with a full cushion insole. They fit the entire length of your shoe and can help absorb shock and prevent your feet from sliding forward in your shoes.

5

Cushion Inserts

Cushion inserts are another popular shoe aid. Gel or cushion inserts that sit under the ball of your feet are perfect for high heels where a lot of pressure will be placed on these areas. They’ll take the sting and burn out of wearing heels for long periods of time. Inserts that are designed for the back of your heel can also help prevent your feet from slipping and sliding out of your shoes.

One who gains strength by overcoming obstacles possesses the only strength which can overcome adversity.

Arch Support

Sometimes wearing flat shoes might seem like a safer or more comfortable option than heels. But if your flat shoes don’t provide you with enough arch support, they might be a problem later down the track. When you’re buying your shoes, check to see that they have padded soles. Otherwise you could try using some arch support inserts or insoles.

7

Band Aids

It never hurts to carry a few band aids or gel plasters in your handbag for emergency situations. They’ll be a life saver if you’re caught out and about with a shoe dilemma. They’ll ease the pain of blisters or raw skin, and can even help your feet grip to your shoes.

These are just some tips to help you make your shoes more comfortable. Getting the right fit is important but if you’re ever caught out, there are some things you can do to help ease the pain. What tips and tricks do you have for making your shoes more comfortable?

Wear thick socks and blow dry your shoes while on your feet. Found that on Pinterest! I was also told to put water in safe zip locks, put them in your shoes and freeze them over night to stretch. ;)

Im new here.

This is why I can't wear strappy heels or flats... Beauty is not, nor should it ever be, painful.

I always use Vaseline! Wear the shoe for a while & once the red areas are highlighted, rub Vaseline onto the skin & also around the rims of the shoe where the redness is. Rub it on your heels as well. It's brilliant. Never have any problems with new shoes. None!

Best trick ever.... Put shoes in dryer for 5-10 min so they are nice and warm. Then put on the thickest socks you own and put the warm shoes on over the socks, walk around for 10-15 min Works like a charm, Bought a pair of boots a half size too small, tried this They fit perfect now

What the heck is a "gel plaster"? I've never heard that term before.

They also sell this stuff at the dollar store called mole skin if your shows rub blisters. You just cut it and put it on the spot they rub blisters and it doesn't come off like a band aid!'
